On June 29th, the Center for Management and Public Policies will promote the Gender Equality webinar, with the institutional opening made by Allyne Andrade and mediation by Laura Muller Machado, both of them professor at Insper. The webinar will also feature the presence of Bila Sorj, sociologist, historian and coordinator of NESEG/UFRJ, Jacqueline Pitanguy, sociologist, political scientist and founder of Citizenship, Study, Research, Information and Action (CEPIA), Synthia Santana, Economist and GeFam Researcher.
The different aspects related to gender (inequality) present in Brazilian society, legislation and policies will be discussed. Aspects ranging from the conceptualization of gender equality to the greatest challenges of Brazilian policies that seek to promote it will be addressed.
“To what extent is the concept of gender equality fully understood throughout society?”, “What part of gender inequality results from differences in treatment received and family expectations in adulthood?”, “Brazil embraces with enthusiasm all international declarations that deal with gender equality?” are just some of the questions that will be discussed in the webinar.
