The Course Population and Development in Brazil Today, will take place from March 29 to June 9. It is being held by Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and Center for Studies on Public Policies and Human Rights (NEPP-DH), in partnership with Brazilian Networkd for Population and Development (REBRAPD) and coordinated by Professor Richarlls Martins. The course discusses the links between human rights and population, with an emphasis on the journey from the Cairo Conference in 1994 to the Nairobi Conference in 2019 and brings together academics and women who participated in this journey as Jacqueline Pitanguy. CEPIA played an important role in working with other NGOs in organizing events such as the national meeting in 1993, which prepared the Brasilia Charter Our Rights for Cairo 94 and the Declaration on Reproductive Health and Justice a main document prepared during a major international event co-organized by CEPIA and the International Women’s Health Coalition (IWHC) in Rio de Janeiro in January 1994.
