The United Nations Population Fund, UNFPA, promoted a training activity for the NGOs granted with its call for proposal. The group represent a diversity of agendas aligned with a multi-cultural and plural country like Brazil.

With the title On the Trails of Cairo, this activity, developed on March 10 and 11, aimed to share the contribution of civil society in the preparatory process for the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD), both in Brazil and internationally, where women played a key role. The Conference, held in 1994 in Cairo, the challenges faced, the victories included in its Action Plan, were presented by Jacqueline Pitanguy who actively participated in this process. The event was coordinated by Junia Quiroga, Auxiliary Representative of the Fund, moderated by Indyamara Machado and opened by Astrid Band, UNFPA representative in Brazil.
