The Women’s Safety Commission, of the State Council for the Rights of Women of Rio de Janeiro – CEDIM / RJ held, on January 26th, a meeting to discuss the situation of public policies for women, in particular the situation of health care services for women in situations of violence, and to define an agenda aimed at meeting that will occur on February 10th, 2021, with the State Secretary for Social Assistance and Human Rights. The Commission is concerned with the functioning of services aimed at women in situations of violence, with the Social Rental provided by Maria da Penha Law, with the rates of femicide in the state and the difficulties of women to have access to these services. The President of CEDIM and several members of the Commission participated in this meeting, including Leila Linhares Barsted, from CEPIA.
