The Ministry of Women, Gender Policies and Sexual Diversity of the Province of Buenos Aires promoted on November 18th, the webinar Indispensable Dialogues – Reflections on gender violence since feminism in the Southern Cone with the aim of rescuing the genealogy of local feminisms and problematize what appear to be certainties in the field of approaches to gender violence.
This event was attended by Minister Estela Díaz and the Undersecretary for Policies against Gender Violence, Flávia Delmas, and as exhibitors Susana Chiarotti (CLADEM Argentina), Leila Linhares Barsted (CEPIA), Carmen Beramendi (Director of FLACSO Uruguay), Mónica Tarducci (Universidad de Buenos Aires) and Débora Tajer (Universidad de Buenos Aires).
The speakers discussed the history of feminisms and the different positions in relation to gender-based violence; the current issues, from 2015 to the present, of feminisms in America and the Caribbean; the impact on the agenda and public policies and the challenges of feminism around the issue of gender-based violence.
