The Permanent Forum on Domestic, Family and Gender Violence of the Rio de Janeiro State Magistracy School (EMERJ), in conjunction with the Gender, Race and Ethnicity Research Center (NUPEGRE), promoted on the 16th, the webinar The culture of rape in Brazil that counted as exhibitors (o) of representatives of the security and justice system.
In her speech, the Forum’s president, Judge Adriana Ramos de Mello reinforced that: “The lack of reparation and punishment for this type of crime, especially sexual crimes, communicates to society the trivialization of violence against women, naturalization, above all with people who are at the moment of greatest vulnerability, because a victim of a crime – whatever it may be -, requires a whole host, a differentiated work, mainly from the Justice system ”. Leila Linhares Barsted, from CEPIA, participated in this webinar.
