On October 28th, Leila Linhares Barsted (CEPIA) taught a class on the online Course Democracy, Inequality and Rights of the Common Knowledge Project aimed at giving visibility to the conquests of civil, political and social rights in Brazil and the involvement of social movements in this process. The Course involves specialists from different fields of knowledge aiming at a plural and comprehensive approach on the subject of the conquest of rights.

It is a stricto sensu postgraduate Course and activity of scientific dissemination, promoted by a group of public higher education and research institutions in Rio de Janeiro. In her class on Women’s Movements in the Struggle for Rights Leila presented the history of the performance of feminist and women’s movements and their fundamental importance in expanding the Brazilian democratic process.

The Course is also broadcast on TV ALERJ, of the Legislative Power of this state.
