On October 22nd occurred the Webinar on Violence Against Women, promoted by the Superior School of Law / Brazilian Bar Association. Leila Linhares Barsted, representing CEPIA, participated, as an exhibitor, in the theme “Law Maria da Penha and Convention of Belém do Pará”. In this exhibition Leila Linhares Barsted highlighted the advances in the struggle of Brazilian women against gender-based violence, the importance of the Convention to Prevent, Punish and Eradicate Violence against Women in declaring that violence against women is a violation of human rights, the importance the Maria da Penha Law and the dangers of setbacks in women’s rights to a life without violence.
