The Municipal Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents of Rio de Janeiro (CMDCA-Rio) organized the event Sexual violence against children and adolescents: the right to prevention. The meeting, which took place on August 26, was held within the scope of the monthly meetings of the Group in charge of revising the Municipal Plan to Combat Sexual Violence against Children and Adolescents. As a way of deepening the prevention axis, one of the six axes that make up the Plan, Renato Roseno, lawyer and Pedro Hartung, Coordinator of Alana Institute were invited as speakers. Renato Roseno brought a broader perspective on advances and challenges in tackling violence against children and adolescents in Brazil and Pedro Hartung presented an approach on the aspects of neurological and social development associated with early childhood and the construction of bond and affection. Andrea Romani (CEPIA), was the moderator and Maria América Ungaretti and Nancy Torres (CMDCA-Rio) were involved in coordinating the event.
