On June 23, the 4th meeting of the Working Group involved in the revision of the Municipal Plan to Combat Sexual Violence against Children and Adolescents took place. This was the first online meeting of the Group and its main objectives were the presentation of a work plan for the next two years and the evaluation of the preliminary structure proposal for the Plan. The Plan should be guided by the guidelines and axes incorporated in the National Plan to Combat Sexual Violence against Children and Adolescents, which include Prevention, Attention, Defense and Accountability, Communication and Social Mobilization, Participation and Protagonism and Studies and Research.
The meeting, organized by the Municipal Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents (CMDCIA-Rio) had CEPIA as host, represented by Andrea Romani. Representatives of government agencies, including the Regional Labor Superintendence, the Public Defender’s Office, the Public Prosecutor’s Office, and the education and the social assistance and human rights secretariats attended the meeting. It also had non-governmental representatives including CEDCA, CEPIA, CONTACT, Redes da Maré, São Martinho, Fundação Roberto Marinho, as well as representatives from CMDCA-Rio and FEPETI-RJ.
