The IAD, Inter American Dialogue is an organization that brings together people from the Americas and the Caribbean from different sectors such as politics, academia, journalism, CSOs and companies, with the aim of strengthening democracy and the rule of law in the Region.
On May 19th, the IAD held its first Virtual Forum bringing together its members for a Dialogue, coordinated by its president, Michael Shifter, on the impacts of the COVID-19 crisis in Latin America and the Caribbean. Topics covered included democracy and militarization, populism and science, access to sexual and reproductive health, economics and social inequality. Jacqueline Pitanguy, from CEPIA, is a member of the IAD and participated in this virtual debate.
