On March 31st Jacqueline Pitanguy was interviewed by UNISINOS ( University of Rio Grande do Sul) on the issue of domestic violence and the social isolation due to the corona virus and she pointed out that since 1986, with a national survey of our Bureau of statistics (IBGE), there was evidence that the home is a dangerous place for women, by someone they know since most of the reports on violence suffered by women indicated that they were aggressed at home while the men were aggressed mainly on the streets by an unknown person. This pattern remains and while probably men will suffer less violence the opposite will occur with women in the situation of social isolation. Bolsonaro’s decree that one can have up to 4 guns at home can made lethal the danger for women.
