The 10th and last 2019 meeting of the State Forum for the Prevention and Eradication of Child Labor and Adolescent Worker Protection (FEPETI/RJ) was held on December 5th at FIRJAN.

The meeting was attended by representatives of municipal secretariats from various municipalities of the state of Rio de Janeiro, including Cabo Frio, Niterói, Rio de Janeiro and Belford Roxo, as well as representatives of SEASDH and the Public Defenders Office, and representatives of civil society organizations, such as the Mudes Foundation and CEPIA, represented by Andrea Romani.

In addition to celebrating the 25th anniversary of the National Forum for Prevention and Eradication of Child Labor (FNPETI), which constitutes an important democratic space for debate and construction of strategies to address this violation of human rights, the meeting’s agenda also included a presentation on the experience of the Center for Adolescent Health Studies (NESA), from UERJ University, in relation to child labor. The presentation was given by Professor Carmen Raymundo, coordinator of the Adolescent Worker Health Program, who reinforced the need for inter sectorial and inter institutional actions to combat child and adolescent labor.
